Mike Kvasnicka

Mike Kvasnicka

Lexington Legends third baseman Mike Kvasnicka has been added to the Southern Division roster for next week’s South Atlantic League All-Star Game.

The 52nd annual all-star contest will be played Tuesday at Salisbury, Md., home of the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Also added to the Southern roster Friday were Augusta pitcher Shawn Sanford, Asheville infielder Brett Tanos and Charleston outfielder Ramon Flores.

Sanford replaces Savannah’s Josh Edgin and Tanos takes the place of Savannah’s Robbie Shields. Both Sand Gnats have been promoted to the High-A St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League.

Charleston’s Slade Heathcott will miss the all-star game due to injury, so Savannah’s Cory Vaughn will move into the starting lineup in center field. Flores takes the reserve spot that Vaughn had occupied.
